This commitment led to the creation of Hero Peduli, a CSR initiative focusing on four key areas: education, community health, economic empowerment, and environmental sustainability.

Investing in Education: One Store One School

The One Store One School program aims to improve educational infrastructure by providing school facilities and scholarships to selected schools nationwide. Schools are chosen based on their location, condition, and level of need, ensuring targeted and effective support.

Advancing Healthcare: Program KASIH

The Komitmen Anak & Ibu Sehat HERO (KASIH) program enhances maternal and child health by supporting POSYANDU (integrated healthcare centers). The program strengthens POSYANDU’s role by providing training for healthcare volunteers and facilitating monthly clinics for children and pregnant women. These clinics offer vaccinations and nutritional supplements, ensuring that mothers and children have access to essential healthcare services.

Empowering Communities: Economic Development Initiatives

HERO Group actively supports economic empowerment through direct sourcing and SME development. One of its pioneering efforts is the Co-branding KATATA program, a first in Indonesia’s retail industry. In collaboration with leading universities, the program educates farmers on agriculture, farm product development, packaging, distribution, and financial management. By providing structured support, HERO Group aims to uplift local farmers’ economic standards and improve their quality of life.

Promoting Environmental Sustainability: Hero Green Action

Through Hero Green Action, HERO Group promotes environmental awareness and action to create healthier living spaces. The initiative encourages people to participate in sustainability efforts, emphasizing the importance of environmental restoration.

Driving Impact Through Collaboration and Engagement

To maximize the impact of its CSR programs, HERO Group allocates a dedicated budget and invites customer participation through shopping charity initiatives. The company collaborates with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) such as Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI) and ABBR for Program KASIH, as well as Indonesia Juara Foundation for One Store One School. Economic empowerment and environmental initiatives are managed directly by the Group.

Employee engagement has also risen, reinforcing long-term commitment to CSR initiatives. HERO Group evaluates its CSR programs using both qualitative and quantitative analysis. In qualitative analysis, the Group assesses its impact by revisiting the initial objectives of each CSR initiative and evaluating how well they have been met. In quantitative analysis, the company measures the social value created through its CSR activities using the Social Return on Investment (SROI) method.
