about PT Anugerah Pharmindo Lestari

It Takes A Village.

PT Anugerah Pharmindo Lestari strives to serve at all levels.

PT Anugerah Pharmindo Lestari (APL), a member of Zuellig Pharma, has been successfully serving the Indonesian healthcare market since its inception in 1985. APL provides world-class distribution, and commercial and digital services to up to 60,000 medical facilities in 434 cities across the breadth of Indonesia. The company also operates a state-of-the-art national distribution center and 26 pharma-grade warehouses.

Sustainability has become a core mission at APL, which serves more than 50 clients, including the top ten pharmaceutical companies in the world. APL’S sustainability program is embedded throughout its day-to-day business operations and implemented through four key pillars.

Through the pillar of “Improving Health Outcomes” APL aims to enhance access to quality medication for patients and utilize its expertise to promote positive health outcomes for the community. The pillar, which directly relates to APL’s mission of making healthcare more accessible, also aims to increase awareness of Communicable Diseases (CDs) and Non-Chronic Diseases (NCDs).

The pillar of “Nurturing Talent” is based on the premise that people are the heart of the business. APL firmly believes that caring for the safety and wellness of its employees is essential to long-term business performance.

The pillar of “Respecting the Environment” reinforces the company’s unwavering commitment to climate change mitigation and energy efficiency as part of its efforts in safeguarding the environment.

“Setting the Highest Standard of Integrity” assures stakeholders that they are in safe hands, with respect to their data, products and respective reputations.

APL had already undertaken steps to reduce its carbon emissions by limiting the number of up-country business trips, prior to the advent of COVID-19, and leveraging advancements in technology to organize meetings online.

In addition, a percentage of APL’s packaging materials are made from recycled material, while others are made with eco-friendly constituents to minimize the number of undegradable waste. APL also works in collaboration with reputable third parties to implement responsible waste management.

APL, has resolved to make efficient use of its wide resources, comply with legislation, reduce emissions and improve safety for everyone involved.

The company integrates economic, environmental and social (EES) considerations internally at all employee and management levels to inculcate the importance and urgency of a sustainable future.

APL’s Supply Chain Team continuously strives to evaluate and improve the efficiency of its allocation and relocation plan in order to achieve the optimal way of ensuring the availability of its healthcare products.

Recently, the company adopted a new transportation system that optimizes routes automatically for delivery from branches to customers.

APL also offers training and development initiatives for its employees, including the MT (management trainee) Program, which aims to develop future APL leaders. The company has also pledged to build a space where its employees can develop their skills and knowledge through various online learning platforms and trainings seminars.

In September 2020, APL conducted Safety Culture week where employees participated in events comprising webinars, competitions, podcasts, social media awareness activities and workshops to raise their awareness about work safety and health.

Moreover, APL regularly recognizes employees who achieve extraordinary performance through the Best Employees Program. With its widespread coverage in Indonesia, vast networks within the healthcare industry, and time-tested expertise on improving health outcomes, APL is in the best position to engage with and positively impact local communities.

The pharma giant also endeavors to use innovative technology solutions and applications to build closer partnerships with healthcare providers in order to facilitate better access to medical services.

APL’s progressive agenda has been recognized with ISO 9001:2015 for its facilities, and ISO 27001:2013 for leading the industry with Information security management systems in place and recently, ACES 2021’s Community Initiative Award nomination.

“As businesses grow, ideals and objectives need to expand to take into consideration the greater good of the communities and markets the business serves. PT Anugerah Pharmindo Lestari, as one of the movers and shakers of Indonesia’s pharma industry, is cognizant of the role it plays both as a business and thought leader, and moves to implement ecological, environment and societal thinking into its business model.”
