“Dell-ving deeper into better business”
Tech giant hears its employees out.
On 7 September 2016, Dell and EMC Corporation joined forces in the largest technology merger in history to become Dell Technologies. This merger unites leading technology brands that, together, provides the essential infrastructure for organizations to build their digital future, transform IT and protect their most important asset, information. Dell Technologies Malaysia was established in 1995, and serves customers in Malaysia and around the world.
Tell Dell is Dell Technologies’ annual team members engagement survey where all team members share their feedback about the company, its leadership, and its culture. Tell Dell FY20 (year 2019) survey results showed the top three things most valued by its employees in Malaysia: the company culture, work-life balance and career opportunities.
Dell Technologies believes that a high-performing company must be committed to the individual achievements of all its team members, helping them balance the demands of life so that they can be their best, both personally and professionally. The company’s values are embedded in the culture code that was developed through an extensive empirical research and collation of feedback from more than 75,000 team members in the company globally. The code is a statement of the shared values and expectations for how Dell Technologies team members work and lead. It is ingrained in the entire ecosystem of HR practices, including hiring, development, engagement, performance and rewards.
Flexibility at work is a way of life at Dell Technologies. The majority of team members practice flexible working hours. Dell Technologies also supports a positive work-life balance through many programs and benefits to encourage a more flexible way to work. One such program is Connected Workplace, which provides team members with the flexibility to work remotely via customized work schedules and creation of a hybrid flexible work schedule that meets individual and business needs. Dell Technologies aims to not only foster growth and opportunity for its team members worldwide, but to ultimately create a brighter, more successful future for the company and its customers.
At Dell Technologies, there are endless opportunities and rewards. The tech giant provides development programs to enhance team members’ career growth and development. These programs empower and inspire team members to personalize their career journey and build the value they bring to the table by building skills, gaining experience and learning new things. Dell Technologies is committed to offering team members unparalleled career growth in many ways, including one-on-one meetings with mentors and leaders, regular 360-degree feedback, routine check-ins with a long-term career plan, and continuous formal and virtual training.
Dell Technologies uses various channels and communication mediums to engage with team members in order to build stronger and more inclusive relationships across its organization, as well as in its communities. Some of the methods of engagement that are being utilized and implemented are townhall sessions; an intranet platform for information sharing for the entire company; Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and Dell Wellness Hub, which is a digital wellness program with tools and resources designed to provide an interactive personalized experience to support team members’ unique wellness interests and goals.
Dell Technologies Malaysia has received numerous awards and recognition. These include the Human Resources Excellence Awards 2019 where the company was awarded Gold for Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion and another Gold for Excellence in Workplace Wellbeing.
