about CEVA Logistics

“A Global Leader in Sustainable Supply Chain Solutions”

CEVA Logistics prioritizes environmental sustainability through initiatives like carbon neutrality, renewable energy adoption, and eco-conscious operations.

CEVA Logistics (“CEVA”), founded in 2006 after Apollo Management LP acquired TNT Logistics and merged it with Eagle Global Logistics, has evolved significantly over the years. In 2019, it was acquired by global shipping group CMA CGM, a global player in sea, land, air and logistics solutions, becoming its fully-owned subsidiary. CEVA has continued to expand its operations through acquisitions, including AMI Worldwide in 2020, and Ingram Micro Commerce & Lifecycle Services (CLS), Colis Privé, GEFCO, and Spedag Interfreight in 2022. Headquartered in Marseille, France, CEVA, a world leader in third-party logistics, provides global supply chain solutions, connecting people, products, and providers worldwide through its approximately 110,000 employees at more than 1,300 facilities in 170 countries.

As a global leader in transport and logistics, CEVA’s commitment to environmental sustainability is at the core of its mission. The CMA CGM Group is dedicated to fostering a more sustainable approach, continuously seeking innovative solutions to combat climate change and safeguard the planet’s biodiversity and resources. The CMA CGM Group’s mission revolves around the concept of “BETTER WAYS.” This mission is firmly upheld at CEVA, where it actively contributes to sustainable development through its responsible business practices. CEVA’ commitment to “BETTER WAYS” is exemplified in its various initiatives, including Carbon Neutral Logistics, the Green Ocean Solutions, utilization of Sustainable Aviation Fuel in air transport, deployment of EV trucks for green mobility, and the implementation of CO2 Digital Solutions to reduce its environmental footprint.

CEVA is committed to incorporating environmental considerations throughout its value chain. This commitment includes integrating environmental criteria establishing partnerships with key players in the transportation industry to promote sustainable solutions like electric vehicles, seeking out suppliers that provide alternative energy sources, eco-friendly materials, and equipment with lithium-ion batteries, and collaborating with real estate providers to implement green technologies such as solar panels in its facilities. Moreover, CEVA actively supports its customers in their environmental strategies and includes green commitments in Service Level Agreements to reinforce its dedication to sustainability across its operations.

CEVA places a strong emphasis on environmental risk and opportunity analysis, with a particular focus on climate change scenarios, forming the bedrock of its sustainability strategy and goal-setting processes to mitigate its environmental footprint. The objective is to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. This comprehensive analysis encompasses various factors, including energy consumption, emissions, waste management and disposal, storage and utilization of hazardous substances, liquid waste drainage and disposal, as well as the environmental impact assessment of raw materials and packaging. Through this analysis, CEVA aims to proactively identify areas for improvement and sustainable practices, aligning with its commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability.

In 2022, CEVA unveiled its sustainability commitment for its warehouses, a significant aspect of its Ground operations. The company’s ambitious plan includes aiming for 100% LED lighting in warehouses by the end of 2023, and tripling the solar panel surface area through a $180 million joint investment by the end of 2025. The company also targets powering all its warehouses with low-carbon electricity in the same timeframe. These initiatives align with CEVA’s environmental goals to reduce its carbon footprint. To realize these ambitions, CEVA is already taking concrete steps, including solar panel installations, LED lighting with smart devices, and investments in lithium-ion battery equipment for cleaner energy solutions. The company is also exploring options for procuring green energy. CEVA is committed to comprehensive environmental sustainability, with initiatives such as recycling programs, rainwater harvesting, reduced plastic usage, and eco-friendly materials, reflecting its dedication to eco-conscious practices across regions and countries, all contributing to its mission of environmental responsibility.
