A property development business, LBS Bina Group was incorporated on 29 June 2000 and listed on Bursa Malaysia on 30 January 2002, marking 2017 as its 15th year of listing.

LBS Bina Group Berhad is committed to supporting the nation’s agenda of increasing home ownership by building more affordable homes and townships for Malaysians. Targeting first-time home buyers, new families and the middle income segment, LBS emphasises squarely on the practicality of home designs and supporting facilities for added value to purchasers.
LBS launched its first township at Bandar Saujana Putra (BSP) in 2003, developed out of 850 acres of land. This self-contained township is being further developed with its latest signature project, BSP21.

Subsequent to the success of BSP, LBS built its confident and decided to launch its luxurious island resort style township, D’ Island Residence in 2011. In 2015 LBS achieved another breakthrough by achieving total sales amounting to RM1billion.

March 2016 marked another milestone for the group in Zhuhai, China with the launch of the Melaka Cultural and Trade Center, in conjunction with the Opening Ceremony of the Melaka Cultural Festival and Pan Delta Super Racing Festival, enhancing relations between Melaka and Guangdong.
According to the Group Managing Director, Tan Sri Lim Hock San, the most difficult challenges his organization faced was during the 1997 financial crisis. Making a strategic move to concentrate on developing medium-low cost homes at the time effectively shielded LBS from the negative impact of the crisis.

The swift and strategic decisions made by the Group over the years have resulted in its resilient growth and overall confidence of its employees towards LBS and its leadership. The clear direction and positive outlook serves as a motivator for employees to further contribute towards the group’s exceptional performance. The Group’s success in achieving its RM1 billion sales target in 2015 serves as a good example.

Sharing his views on the essential factors of effective leadership and empowering his team, Tan Sri Lim said that good leadership comes from experience.
He also firmly believes in providing equal opportunity for new ideas to be explored and escalated for further discussion at the management level before implementing them. Tan Sri Lim opines the success of an idea is determined by consistently monitoring the implementation process and providing support where necessary.

Human Resource plays an important role in supporting the success of LBS Bina Group Berhad. More importantly for Tan Sri Lim, good leadership plays a key role in shaping the company’s HR practices which in turn set a positive and fulfilling environment for employees. Good leadership helps to identify and enhance the potential of employees, while good Human Resource management is crucial in managing and maintaining the welfare of employees. As for his own personal style, Tan Sri Lim admits to being a goal-oriented leader who sets goals and works together with his management team. “To be the best at what we do and to keep progressing”

He further opines that management teams should be open minded and result oriented, and that the younger generation should be given the opportunity to express their ideas based on the goals set, with proper acknowledgement and rewards accorded to employees who perform well.

So, what is LBS’ recipe for success? Tan Sri Lim simply strives to be respected by his peers, his family, his employees, his clients and by the general public. To him, someone who is successful is someone who is able to contribute back to both his community and country.
