Equinix’s Asia-Pacific President Jeremy Deutsch galvanises major business breakthroughs by building meaningful connections.

Across Asia-Pacific, Equinix’s business and growth strategy is directed by Jeremy Deutsch, President of Asia-Pacific, who is responsible for aligning regional goals with global strategies and ensuring the delivery of the tools, partners and possibilities customers require to achieve their digital transformation goals. He now oversees Equinix’s business in Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore.

Deutsch has over 20 years of experience in the information and communication technology (ICT) industry, and is a 10-plus year Equinix veteran. He joined the company in 2008 as a Sales Director before moving up the ladder to serve as Managing Director at Equinix Australia, where he grew the revenue by 17-fold and helmed the acquisition of Metronode, which subsequently made Equinix the market leader in Australia.

In times of uncertainty, a leader’s response plays a key role in determining whether a business sinks or swims. They face the monumental task of taking swift, concerted action, not only in navigating the extraordinary demands of the crisis but also in reassuring people to bolster trust. Either way, one wrong move could erode this certainty and unleash unrest.

Deutsch – an economics and information systems graduate from the University of New South Wales – has shown commendable leadership in the ways he has ramped up Equinix Asia-Pacific’s capabilities to accommodate the surging digital traffic throughout the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and minimised the risk of operational impacts to protect the health and safety of his employees, customers, partners and communities.

Despite the challenges, Equinix reached new heights with an increased global revenue and footprint expansion in Asia-Pacific. Deutsch also introduced new capabilities and deepened Equinix’s prominent partnerships. Equinix also takes the number 1 spot in Asia-Pacific in being the market leader in retail data center colocation.

As a firm believer in building meaningful connections, Deutsch has remained steadfast in supporting the needs of its stakeholders while upholding and advancing Equinix’s environment, social and governance (ESG) sustainability commitments. In regards to its customers, Deutsch has provided reliable connectivity to business-critical cloud services, maintaining rapidly expanding video conferencing capabilities and enabling access to local VPN capacity as demanded by remote work environments, alongside an additional support program.

With regards to its workforce and the wider communities, supplementary employee resources have been made available alongside virtual events and other initiatives, including financial assistance, matching of employee donations to aid frontliners, health and wellness assistance, and virtual employee volunteering. Adding onto that are comprehensive learning and development programs for diverse functions at multiple levels.
