“Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it.” This quote by the famed German poet Goethe has proven to be the guiding light for Hachi Yin, CEO and mastermind behind Utopia Corporation’s impressive success. His firm belief that dreams can be made a reality led him from Melbourne to Phuket where lives by his company’s slogan “Dare to Dream” as he firmly establishes Utopia as the region’s top real estate and hospitality development Corporation.
A passion for business from the early days
Growing up in Melbourne, Australia. Hachi Yin has always had the DNA of a businessman. His entrepreneurial spirit first showed when he was six and began hosting a locker shop at school, where he sold second-hand toys. At the age of twelve, he opened a business on eBay and by the time he was 20, he had founded his first company in the telemarketing sector. Before he even turned 21, he had already purchased his first property. This ignited his passion for the real estate industry, and it would be only the first of many successful ventures to come.
Daring to dream big
After he graduated from Victoria University, Hachi followed his passion for real estate. He began working at the International Property Advisory Limited, a Melbourne-based real estate business aspiring to expand internationally. Hachi seized this opportunity in 2012 when he booked a one-way ticket to Phuket, Thailand to co-found the International Property Advisory Company Limited (Thai Division). Here, he continued developing his skills and gaining the experience he needed to eventually create the Utopia Corporation in 2015.
“Everything starts with daring to dream and daring to do.
When we just dare to follow our dreams, abilities that we never knew we had will manifest themselves.”
Creating a new chapter at Utopia.
When Hachi Yin took over as CEO of Utopia Corporation, he brought with him a strong determination to make the company succeed. His creative ideas, resourceful strategies and his willingness to challenge the status quo have taken Utopia to new heights.
It was under his leadership that Utopia successfully developed and built ten real estate projects in Phuket in only four years. Combined, these schemes were worth over THB 8 billion and successfully introduced the island’s first themed condos and residences – an entirely new concept at the time. These imaginative villas and residences offer very shareworthy backdrops, which is exactly what will inspire buyers in today’s social media-driven world.
Hachi also put Utopia on the map as an international lifestyle brand through his collaboration with none other than the prestigious Italian label, Tonino Lamborghini. Together, they will launch the Tonino Lamborghini Boutique Hotel Phuket in 2024. Another iconic fashion brand will join this project shortly to make this new property the quintessential destination for
exclusive lifestyle experiences. The hotel will be operated by Utopia’s in-house management company, Utopia Hospitality Group.
“There is no shortcut to success. If you want to shine like the sun, first, you need to be as strong as the sun.”
Building Utopia 5.0
Hachi is also focused on transforming Utopia Corporation into a digital organization that can easily keep up with our changing world. This includes leveraging online technology such as virtual walkthroughs and 360-degree images to present projects, build relationships with potential buyers and ensure they have a perfectly branded experience. This has allowed Utopia to sell nearly 132 units remotely during the COVID-19 crisis.
On top of this, Utopia Corporation’s subsidiary, Zeus Teknology, has developed a mobile app which grants members immediate access to Club Utopia, making for a smooth after-sales experience.
Chief Entertainment Officer: Work hard, play harder
Even at first glance, one can tell that Hachi Yin’s leadership style is unique and couldn’t easily be mimicked. His warm soul, playful, yet charming character and good sense of humour are behind his desire to see his team feel relaxed and happy even when work is challenging. This attitude has won over the hearts of team members, clients and business partners alike. It also earned him the title of Chief Entertainment Officer. There’s no doubt this all plays into Utopia Corporation’s impressive ascent and their ongoing success. According to Hachi, good results don’t just depend on corporate policies. He seems to have found the real secret to success: a culture of enjoying and being happy at work – which is exactly what he has created at Utopia.
“If we enjoy working and do what we love, we will feel the passion inside. It will drive us to excel without it feeling difficult and losing time thinking about the obstacles.”
“Good leaders know that certain skills are innate, and as such, make an investment in themselves by building up traits such as an entrepreneurial spirit. Hachi’s inspiring story reminds all prospective business owners that Utopia is something they can create.”
