Calling his leadership style “collegial; centered on a clear vision executed by an inspired team,” Reyes believes a leader should be trustworthy, committed and forthright. “My leadership style has been greatly influenced by the values inculcated in me by my family, nurtured by my education and moulded by my experience and my interaction with people. Over the years I believe that leadership styles have changed in form, but they remain true in substance. I also believe that the concept of leadership can be taught, but needs to be practiced to unlock its full potential,” opines Reyes.
Apart from doing well financially, Reyes believes that success should bring about a positive impact on one’s shareholders, customers, employees – and most especially to on the community.
“Our business, more than anything else, is a People Business. Therefore, I like to be involved with any Human Resource issues. I consider the HR department to be a critical business partner, and therefore invaluable in promoting good leadership. Giving back to the community is also something that is very close to my heart and I think it is a reflection of everything that Genpact stands for. Our numerous Corporate Social Responsibility activities have resulted in awards from the Philippines Red Cross and various other organisations. I think this is something we can be very proud of.”
