Adopting a hands-on approach to the business, Piganiol still maintains a regular and personal contact across the country, despite the Covid-19 pandemic. He believes that the continuous visit of teams, constant engagement of customers (downstream) and clients (upstream) and monthly field visits are still a critical aspect of the management as it reminds business leaders of the day-to-day issues faced by the teams.
Piganiol believes that people are the most important asset driving the growth of the company. Employees at APL are given many opportunities to grow and innovate, as the company equips them with various learning channels. By being part of APL, employees see the bigger picture – that what they do is beyond working for the company, and actually matters to the community, as they are part of a company committed to making healthcare more accessible for patients in Indonesia.
APL’s commitment to sustainability is reflected through their Sustainability Program, which comprises of four main key pillars, namely improving health outcomes, nurturing talent, respecting the environment, and setting the highest standard of integrity. Through those pillars the company believes that they are on the right path to building a healthier future of Indonesia, together with their clients and customers. Through the program, APL has also been actively engaging the communities, including employees and their families, clients, customers, healthcare professionals, trade associations and other local communities.
As a leader, Piganiol strives to be the role model for his team, understanding each of his team members’ competencies and potencies, being agile in terms of leadership styles accordingly to the company’s necessity, being open-minded and willing to listen to feedback, taking accountability for everything that has been done by the team, and constantly demonstrating the highest integrity in all dealings. His idea of success is making a real impact to an organization, nurturing talents to become new leaders who then become future agents of change who then contribute to the community, country and the world.
Among some of Piganiol’s notable leadership milestones was the launching of APL’s state-of-the-art National Distribution Center (NDC), which is the largest pharma-grade warehouse in Indonesia and across the Zuellig Pharma Market. APL was also awarded the NDC ISO 9001: Quality Management System Certification and recognized as ‘Best Company to Work For’ by HR Asia on three occasions.
“ Christophe Piganiol’s belief that constant communication and contact with staff, distributers and clients through the covid-19 pandemic was of absolute necessity, has cemented the President Director’s reputation as a leader who believes in the power of communication as a way to get the very best out of the people he works with, and the markets his company delivers to.”
